The sound of MKS

According to the notes this is just "a bit of fun", mash up  laid down at the end of a recording session in California. Sounds a lot like TLC, only better.

Can't wait for the album!

Waiting, waiting...

Waiting, waiting...

Waiting for the MKS Album.

Here's an idea. Why don't they put out an extended album and include the tracks from Keisha's unreleased album? In the days before mp3 this used to be known as a double album. In fact they could put a superb souvenir package in the shops with two CDs.

Here's to 2013 and the release of MutyaKeishaSiobhan's first album!

From new to old

From new to old:

Look what Keisha's found, from the 1990s:

Found a bag full of old demo tapes from myself, shiv & mut singing when we were 12 lol There's at least 30 tracks! Sounds so funny & Cute!

This casts a new light on the origins of the group as Keisha is saying they sang together at least three years before they released Overload. The name may not have been their idea but this makes clear they were not, at root, a studio band.

All Saints collaboration

MKS - that's Sugababes Mk-Super - are collaborating with All Saints singer-songwriter Shaznay Lewis. This was All Saints' first, brilliant break-out single. After that they got a little samey - but continued to produce reasonably great songs. This one has drum and bass backing. After that they used strings quite a lot I seem to recall.

Push the Button - Olympic theme tune?

Perhaps not theme tune - but this great Sugababes song was selected by Danny Boyle to help kick off the section on British pop music at the spectacular Olympics opening ceremony last night. The video has nearly 4 million views on YouTube. Guests at the event included MutyaKeishaSiobhan, spotted together in the stadium on Twitter. Artists on the video are Mutya, Keisha and Heidi.

Something amazing :-)

It could still be that Keisha, Mutya and Siobhan are working on three separate solo albums - even though Keisha's been working on hers for several years.

But these tweets today from two of them suggest something else "amazing" is about to emerge. And what's this intriguing comment from Keisha about the "style of music"?

Keisha Buchanan ‏@keisha_buchanan Studiooooooo This album is sounding amazing. I'm so proud to stand by this record and style of music :-)

Mutya buena ‏@MutyaBuena_ Still @ studio makin amazing music best by far can't wait for all to hear ;-)

A million pound deal?

More details of the reunion band have been emerging in the British press.

The Sun suggested the deal for an album with Polydor is worth £1 million.

Defunitely.

Meanwhile Keisha's tweets have confirmed they are working with Cameron McVey who producted One Touch. Excellent!

What do we think of it all. Well our poll respondents couldn't decide whether this is the best thing since sliced bread or the best thing since Beethoven. But definitely worth a million!

No sign of a name however. Post your suggestions here - obscenities will be deleted.
